Winter / Water

Trust the Power of the Pause

Embrace the cycle of rest and renewal.

The air cools, the sun sets early on the horizon, and a hush settles on the land. The earth lies still beneath a blanket of silence. Trees rest, animals hibernate, and life retreats into hidden places. Seeds lie dormant in the soil, gathering strength for what’s to come. Water governs this time—mysterious, deep, and still.

The Inner Season
of Rest and Regeneration

In a  personal winter season: there is a call to turn inward. This sacred cycle invites deep rest and inner reflection. This is not a time to push the river, but to go with the flow; following the path of least resistance. Trust the process. Slowing down is a super power that allows you to listen deeply, and choose wisely. Allow your inner resources to be replenished. Spring will come again and you will be rested and ready.

The Invitation:
Being vs Doing

You are busy, you have plans, goals, expectations, things that seem important and need to move forward. Yet, you try to push the river, to stir the stillness, to make things move, but nothing responds. It can feel like you're losing your edge, your spark, your way. But a personal  winter cycle is not a time for pushing—it is a time for drawing inward. Life moves underground now. The most profound growth happens where no eye can see. Trust the process of incubation, of gestation. Winter cycles create the restoration and replenishment for the new growth of spring.

The Integration:
Strength through Stillness

Let winter slow you down. Let it soften your edges and quiet your striving. In this stillness, you reconnect with the deep well of your inner knowing. Trust the silence. Beneath the surface, your ideas and energy are gathering strength—preparing to bloom in their own time. Winter offers the gift of restoration, intuitive clarity, and spiritual depth. Less doing and more being—and in that being, your deepest wisdom stirs.

Daily Practices for the Winter/Water Season:

  • Create Quiet – Turn down the noise. Allow the senses to rest in silence.. In this sacred space  your senses are able to soften, to deepen, to hone into the mystery. Walk outside in the quiet night. Listen and see with your inner senses.

  • Rest Intentionally – Give yourself permission to sleep more, move slowly, or pause without guilt. Rest is a super power. Own it. Let  it recharge your focus from the inside out

  • When you feel your doubt and fear arising, saying that you are not doing enough; soften. Place your hands on your lower belly , breathe in and out and soften. Trust the timing of your life.
